This site is dedicated for the traveler and tourist wishing to journey through Mexico. Our aim here is to provide you ( the reader) with a more personalised version of what it is like to  travel through Mexico, rather than the standard sheet of facts that most web sites offer. (We will however add some basic facts about Mexico :D)

Where is Mexico? Mexico is a country located in North America south of the United States of America and north of Guatemala and Belize. The country has both the Atlantic and pacific Oceans on either side. Mexico was founded as a Spanish colony unit it gained its independence from Spanish rule in the year 1860.

Mexico is a country full in history, tradition and culture. From the first impression you'll notice the Colonial Spanish influence followed directly by its indigenous roots and then a strong and rich history that recalls eras such as the Mexican revolution, the war against the United States of America, Spanish conquistadores and the soulful Mariachis.

Mexico is also one of the world's most populous countries, estimated figures put Mexico at about 100 million, with one fifth of the population cramped into the central valley, where Mexico City is located. Mexico is also one of the world largest and most populated cities. If you are flying into Mexico,  chances are you will enter the country through this vast city that was once part of  Aztec empire.

Mexico has a variety indigenous cultures, ranging from the well known civilisations of the Maya and Aztec to others such as the Olmecs and the Trique. The official language of Mexico is Spanish with Catholicism being the major religion of the country.

Mexico is a also a country that varies in landscape, flora and fauna. There are vast deserts and scrublands as well as tropical forests and large wetlands containing  an incredible array  of animals. The keel-billed Toucan for example is a beautiful bird that is found within tropical forests as well as the armadillo.

I hope this site will give you a small glimpse of the beauty and wonder of Mexico. We have selected some  known destinations of Mexico along a journey that stretches from Mexico city and works its way south into the Yucatan Peninsula. We have also included some small  videos for your appreciation. Some of the cities included in these web pages are Mexico City & Teotihuacan, Merida, Oaxaca, Campeche, Villahermosa as well as some archaeological sites such as Chichen Itza and Mount Alban .There are also video clips on Cancun and other Mexican destinations for your appreciation.
